Support the mission of People’s Community Clinic by managing the immunization program in a manner that promotes the importance of immunizations, meets the needs of patients, complies with all applicable laws and policies, and coordinates with other immunization efforts in the community.

 

The starting salary range for this position is $50,000 - $60,000 annually. 

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the Primary TVFC (Texas Vaccine for Children) Coordinator for PCC North, assuring compliance with all TVFC program requirements.
  • Meet with the clinic leadership to establish and maintain the goals of the immunization program.
    • Based on established goals, identify incentives and improvements to workflow to increase immunization rates among People’s patients.
    • Champion the importance of immunizations throughout the clinic, including the integrated effort needed to identify gaps in compliance with People’s patients.
    • Oversee integration of statewide immunization registry into clinic workflow and serve as liaison to statewide immunization registry program.
    • Attend ongoing training/education provided by the state’s immunization program to stay informed of changes to the program and PCC’s continued compliance with the program.
    • Create, maintain, and improve immunization recall/reminder systems.
    • Design processes and handouts to assist with inventory for consistency across the organization.
    • Work closely with administrative and clinical staff to support immunization efforts.
    • Co-design flu vaccine clinics and COVID-19 vaccine clinics.
    • Design and staff catch-up vaccine clinics to address patients who have fallen behind with immunizations.
    • Work cooperatively with nursing leadership to ensure compliance with all relevant federal, state, and local regulations related to vaccine storage, administration, and safety.
    • Ensure all clinical sites order, stock, receive, and distribute vaccines according to TVFC and CDC guidelines and recommendations.
  • Manage immunization support staff, including hiring, orienting, training, supervising, and evaluation.
  • Support VFC Coordinators for VFC and ASN programs at all clinic sites.
  • Manage vaccine inventory and supplies for North.
    • In consultation with People’s CCSO and Chief Medical Officer (CMO), purchase additional vaccine to meet clients’ needs for North and Manor. CWH purchases their own private stock of vaccines.
    • Work closely with CCSO, facilities department, ITS, and finance, as needed, regarding the purchase, installment, and maintenance of Accuvax units, refrigerators, freezers, data loggers, and other equipment required to properly store vaccines.
    • Follow proper storage and handling requirements of the vaccine.
    • Review electronic Data Logger reports to ensure temperatures are at appropriate ranges.
    • Submit monthly reports of vaccine inventory and number of doses given in a timely manner to the TVFC program and appropriate People’s staff.

Qualifications

Education:  

  • High school diploma/GED required.
  • Graduation from an accredited licensed vocational nursing program preferred.

Experience: 

  • Minimum of one year’s experience in program or project management
  • Minimum of one year’s experience supervising staff
  • Previous experience working in a healthcare setting or within a vaccine program is helpful

  • Knowledge of proper administration, shipping, and storage of vaccines
  • Computer literate

  • Strong time-management skills
  • Excellent written and oral communication
  • Demonstrated problem-solving ability
  • Ability to interact professionally with a diverse patient and staff population
  • Flexibility, patience, cooperative demeanor
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish is strongly preferred

Certificate/License: Current LVN/LPN license from the Texas Board of Nursing preferred.
