Education:
- Associate’s degree or two year post-secondary education required.
- Bachelor’s degree in public health or related field preferred.
Experience:
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a health clinic, STI prevention, HIV education, child development, adolescent health, family planning, counseling, resource navigation, and/or experience working with health education.
- Leadership and/or program management experience preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Fluency in English and Spanish preferred.
- Understanding of human reproduction, family planning methods, human sexuality, health prevention, and wellness.
- Knowledge of and sensitivity to the HIV/AIDS patient population and/or an eagerness to learn about this community.
- Strong background in Sexual Health, STI and HIV Prevention, Health Equity, and experience working with populations of sexual and gender minority.
- Ability to effectively present medical/health information related to physical health, child development, family planning, and pregnancy in order to affect health through prevention and maintenance.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Reflexive listening and strong skills in written/verbal communication.
- Basic counseling and health education knowledge.
- Ability to establish and maintain cordial and professional relationships with patients, volunteers, and clinic staff.
- Ability to identify/ use resources and referral systems.
- Ability to interact successfully with people from a variety of backgrounds and abilities.
Certificate/License: Basic life support certification
