Supports the mission of People's Community Clinic by working in a leadership role to assure excellent patient care and health education consistent with PCC values.

 

The starting pay rate for this position is $25.00 - $28.00 hourly. 

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the Lead MA in the assigned Pod, monitoring/assessing patient flow and collaborating with MA leadership to maximize workflow efficiency.
  • Assist MAs and Providers with clinical and administrative duties as needed.
  • Partner with MA supervisor to coordinate new MA training, review MA expectations, and regularly assess MA clinical competencies; Identify and provide training as needed.
  • Oversee exam room readiness (i.e., clean, stocked, submit tickets for instruments that require maintenance) and ensure clinics are prepped and started on time.
  • Champion current and new protocols and procedures for safe, efficient, and productive clinic flow.
  • Facilitate effective communication among the MAs and other departments.
  • Assist in maintaining a clean, professional, and positive work environment within their assigned pod at all times.
  • Identify opportunities to improve workflow, work processes. and patient care, and work cooperatively to implement these and other quality improvements.
  • Ensure that OSHA and HIPAA guidelines are followed at all times.

Qualifications

Education:  High school diploma or GED

Experience:

  • At least two years of experience working as a certified medical assistant in a clinical environment.
  • Prior team lead or supervisory experience preferred.
  • Experience with EMR, EPIC preferred.

 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Demonstrated knowledge of protocols for MAs relating to patient care, provider assistance, exam rooms, and records maintenance
  • Bilingual English/Spanish preferred
  • Excellent customer service skills and ability to interact effectively with a diverse population
  • Self-starter; able to work with minimal supervision
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Patient, flexible, and able to juggle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Team building and respectful communication skills

 

Certificate/License: Current Medical Assistant certification from an accredited agency.
