Supports the mission of People's Community Clinic by assisting the Prescription Assistance Program Coordinator in delivering vital patient assistance services, ensuring efficient medication access and support for patients in need.

 

OBJECTIVE:
The core objective of the Prescription Assistance Program (PAP) Intern is to support the coordination and administration of medication assistance services for eligible patients.

 

This position is available to students who qualify for Work-Study through their university, where we are an approved Work-Study site. 

Responsibilities

Under the guidance of the Program Coordinator, the intern will:

  • Track and manage Prescription Assistance Program referrals.
  • Assist patients with application processes and eligibility documentation.
  • Maintain communication with medical providers for necessary approvals.
  • Coordinate medication processing and distribution.
  • Organize and maintain program documentation and reports.

Qualifications

Education:

  • College-level courses preferably working toward an Associates, BS, or BA degree.

Experience:

  • Previous experience working or volunteering in a medical or human services setting is beneficial.

 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Bilingual English/Spanish required.
  • Familiarity with pharmaceutical patient assistance programs is advantageous.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.
